The Spring Valley Concert Band was founded in 1994 as a bona fide
not-for-profit corporation with an IRS 501(c)3 tax exempt determination, and this is the only band of its kind in the
area. Our purpose is to bring together musicians who enjoy playing music with
audiences who enjoy listening to the music that only a concert band can offer.
Our repertoire includes classical, contemporary and ethnic/folk music. We enjoy performing patriotic tributes, overtures, marches, polkas, show tunes, novelty pieces and seasonal favorites. We try to choose selections that will appeal to our diverse audience members, and we often feature guest artists.
The members of the Spring Valley Concert Band volunteer a combined total of over 5,000 hours a year preparing for performances, and we were recently recognized as the 2004 "Volunteer-of-the-Year" organization by the Village of Schaumburg for our efforts to share our music with the "forgotten" residents of Veterans hospitals and senior nursing/rehab centers.
We are now on Facebook! Come and check us out.

Past Conductors

John M. Snow was the conductor of the Spring Valley Concert Band from 1999 - 2009. He is a Music Education graduate of the University of Illinois and an accomplished musician in his own right. He has been a band director in middle and high schools and we were extremely fortunate to have had him as our conductor for a decade. We all sincerely appreciate his time, dedication and love for our group.
